Building Interactive e-Books in Adobe InDesign
Some organizations are still using paper-based guides, manuals, and job aids for day-to-day operations. Planning for additional printing costs throughout the year to accommodate frequent content changes is often the norm. Reliability can also be questionable, because older documents may not be thrown out when replaced with an updated version. Many organizations have gone paperless, but the electronic versions of their documents are still basic text, which doesn’t make use of the full potential of a virtual format. Are you interested in a fully integrated mobile learning solution that leverages your content in a creative, interactive way? Are your learners in a location where they have little to no Internet connectivity, adding complexity to leveraging mobile in your organization? Do you have Adobe InDesign or Creative Cloud, but don’t feel like you’re using it as much as you could be? In this session, learn how to create interactive e-books. You will learn how to format a document for multiple devices, integrate various types of media, and learn about alternative free and paid tools that can be used to develop and edit interactive e-books. You will walk through a basic workflow to convert a simple document with a few simple media types to an EPUB file format that can be downloaded directly to mobile devices with an e-reader app installed. You will need to have experience using InDesign to get the most out of this session.
